Beer Pong Tables And The Game

If your son (or maybe daughter) comes home from college and casually mentions beer pong, be ready to sit down.  This game has been out for many years, but in the last few years, beer pong has become more popular among college students.  Of course the first word in the game should give it away (beer). 

Wow, and you thought that your child was studying from sunup to sundown all this time.                   

They realize too, that they have to get in some fun and recreation time.  So, they decide to get on a team and wait their turn to get ping pong balls into a cup that has beer in it.  Yes, all of these cups that they’re aiming for usually contain beer, not kool-aid. 

When one of the players is successful in getting a ball in one of the cups, the opposing team has to drink the beer.  The object of the game is to eliminate the other team by getting the balls in their cups so they can drink the beer.  That’s how it works. 

It’s best for them to have more than one ball in order to play.  In fact, they should have plenty of balls while they’re playing.  This is because the balls could get on the floor and unless there is a designated person to wash off the balls everytime that happens, they will be using dirty balls.  Not good. 

Another reason is because the balls can easily get lost and no one wants to look for wayward balls while they’re getting they’re drink on. 

The beer pong games is played on a long plywood table, usually about 8’X4” or a little smaller.  Some of the styles of the beer pong tables are unique.  You will find some that represent professional sports teams and you will find some that are just out there. 

It’s easier to assemble it if a person has some know-how to do so.  Otherwise, it’s better if someone more experienced worked with the beer pong table.

A beer pong table is not your ordinary game table.  You can customize it with lettering, the look of a football field, a basketball court or however you want it to be.  Or, better yet for convenience sake, there are online retailers that specialize in beer pong tables. 

Just tell them what you want and it can be customized to the specifications. 

Beer pong tables are not expensive.  Some of them start around the mid to higher $200 models.  Depending on what kind you want, they could cost more, they could cost less.  People are grabbed by the design of the beer pong table once they see it. 

Some feel that the design can set the tone for the game or tournament.  Now when there’s a tournament, some people pull out all of the stops for a nice beer pong table.

Beer pong tournaments are really when people can strut their stuff.  The tournament is probably the most competitive time of the beer pong games.  It involves skill, concentration and a drive to win.  The alcohol just happens to be the icing on the cake.
