How To Build A Beer Pong Table

If you are a handyman or knows someone who is, they will probably be able to make a beer pong table.  First to make the table, you will need some plywood.  It can be pine plywood that is about ¾” thick.  This is considered the strongest type of wood that can be used to build a beer pong table.

You may have to get the plywood in a larger size, but it still can be cut down to the specifications.  If you don’t want to use pine, you can also use oak plywood.  In fact, oak plywood is recommended because the material is stronger and more reliable.

Another aspect of how to build a pong table is you will have to construct a frame to place under it.  You can cut the plywood into a couple of 2 X4s.  With this, you will be protecting from warping.

You will also have to have two 2X4s that measure eight inches each.  These pieces should be long and they should include two four foot long prices on the edge of each one.

For the legs, 4X4s can be used.  This will make the legs hold up longer.  When they’re finished they can also be painted.

You can choose what kind of design graphics you want on the table.  Most people prefer to stick to the subject of sports.  A good way to get an idea of what you want is to look at some pictures on the internet and print them out.  You can get plenty of ideas just by looking at some of them.  There are also a lot of graphic examples online that may be of interest to you.

If you’re going to apply letters (which is probably more than likely), you can use glossy paper with a heavy texture.  Using the heavier texture helps the lettering to last and stay on the table longer.  You can also use glossy paper with a thinner weight, but it may not hold as well.  Also, the moisture might go through the lettering and ruin it.

If some of the design on the table is large, it’s easier to spray paint it.  That way, you won’t take up so much time trying to color it another way.  If you do decide to spray paint the beer pong table, make that there is making tape placed there.

Putting masking tape on the table while you’re spray painting prevents the mixture of colors bleeding into each other.  Another way to solve this problem is to get a professional spray gun.  These can be found at any home improvement store.

To make the beer pong table stand out, you can add trim for the table edges.  It can bring out the design of the table and sometimes the balls will stop rolling if they encounter the area with the trim on it.  After all this, one of the most important things to remember is to ensure the sturdiness and safety of the table.

Make sure that can handle the absorption of beer.  Eventually the table will have to repainted.  Make sure to try and follow the directions as much as possible in order for your beer pong table to turn out the way it should.
