The Official Rules Of How To Play Beer Pong

In order to play beer pong correctly, you should adhere to the official rules for playing the game.  First, you will either need two or four people to play beer pong.

You will also need the following in order to comply with the beer pong official rules:

· Fourteen plastic cups the measure 12 ounces; each team will get six cups and two cups with water.

· Two or more ping pong balls; actually, it’s better to have more than two in the event the balls get lost or damaged.

· 12 ounce beverages (preferably beer) for each game; a total of two to four of these are needed.

· The surface used should be level and flat.  It should also measure about 7 feet in length and 3 feet in width.

The pong cups should be set up as though you were setting up bowling pins.  There should be one cup at the top, two underneath that and then the remaining three cups under the two.  If done correctly, the setup will resemble the shape of a triangle.

This should be placed at the shorter ends of the table.  One water cup should be placed on each side of the length of the table, situated diagonally.

In learning how to play beer pong, if there is a winner, they get to play first.  If it’s just getting started, one player from each team will shoot after counting to three.  Both players have to look at each other directly, making eye contact.

Whichever person makes the cup, that team will continue.  If neither team makes the cut, then both teams will get the next people in line to shoot.  This will continue until someone makes the cup.
The teams get to shoot two times.

If both teams make the cut, then both teams get another turn.  When they shoot the ball, it should be thrown or bounced into the cup.  Be mindful not to allow the elbows to go over the table’s end while doing this.

Participants are allowed to lean, but they are prohibited from touching.  The elbow rule would definitely be applicable if the table were shorter than the specified measurement.

When a cup is sunk, that means the ball has made contact with what was in the cup.  A spinning ball can be blown out if it hasn’t touched what was in the cup.  If one of the teams hits the cup of the opposition, that team has to drink what’s in that cup.

If someone knocks over the other team’s cup by accident, the cup is sunk.  The cup is also considered sunk if it is knocked over by you or someone on your team.

The purpose of learning how to play beer pong is to sink all of the opponent’s beer cups.  This game is a favorite of a lot of college kids, especially since it usually involved drinking beer.

Drinking beer is a staple on a lot of college campuses, and the game of beer pong helps to fuel that.
